Pepperberry's Bold Stripe Maxi Dress

Stock photo from Pepperberry of their
Bold Stripe Maxi Dress from SS2012.

When I finally found the Bold Stripe Maxi Dress in a size close to mine I was left choosing between a 8c/rc or a 10rc/sc. As I'm usually somewhere between a 6  nd a 8 in waist size I was quite sure that a 10 would be too big, but a 8c/rc is in general too small at my bust. Looking through the photos from last season on the Pepperberry Facebook page it did seem to run big and I can confirm that it definitly does. And did I like it...? Well, let's see...

Ewa Michalak - 50, 55 and 60 Bands Once Again Available

During Wednesday afternoon Ewa Michalak announced that they will go back to producing 50, 55 and 60 bands under the same conditions as before. This means that they will still be made to order, will still have an additional 20 zl (about €4.6 or £4) charge to them and still be non-returnable. They will also not be making any changes to the strap placement at all.

The reason behind this change in policy was claimed to be the popular demand and the numerous requests, which despite everything that has happend the last weeks means the brand listens at least the tiniest bit to their customers. Personally I'm quite sure that it was more because of the previous decision not making any sense financially plus that it had started to cause negative publicity to the limit that it actually could be strict negative for business. Their ability to listen to customers so far seem to be very selective to say the least.

Urkye's Kontrast w fuksji +

When I first saw the Kontrast shirts from Urkye I really liked them, even though the fabric content and the size chart made me a bit hesitant. After a friend let me try on hers I fell in love and couldn't resist ordering one for myself in my latest order.

No More Sub-30 Bands from Ewa Michalak

On June 20th Ewa Michalak made the decision to no longer manufacture 60 (28), 55 (26) or 50 (24) bands. This was announced on Facebook after a question from a previous customer. The reason behind this is currently unknown but I'd love to hear an explanation for the reasoning behind the decision. Custom sizes in 65 (30) bands and up will still be made, just as before.

Pepperberry's Floral Embellished Maxi Dress

Ever since Pepperberry last spring released their Floral Embellished Maxi Dress I've been longing for it. At £79 without any special occasion for it was a bit too much for my student budget. When I saw it new on eBay I had to take the chance though. As someone a bit taller than Pepperberry's clothesare meant for I've been a bit worried of it being too short. It is supposed to be 144 cm long, which turned out to just be perfect for me. Might be good to notice though that I rarely wear heels and that these photos are taken without any shoes on.

The Modesty Panel: How Well-Fitting Bras Made Me Cover Up

Typical neckline and fit for what I used to wear
before finding out about correctly fitted bras.
For me modesty seem to essentially be about not drawing attention to yourself, something I've never been good at. Ever since I could even talk I've always stated my opinion and always questioned everything that seemed non-logical to me, no matter if it meant getting into an intellectual verbal fight with teachers or the nine-year-olds at school when I was 6. I was never aiming at getting attention, the attention I got was just a consequence of my lack of fear of questioning authorities and my inability of keeping my nose out when I felt someone was treated unfair. Modesty as a concept as always seemed very strange to me and I never really understood it, despite living in a country with a culture more or less based on the idea that you should not stand out. Why diminish yourself in order to be seek some sort of peer approval? To be open to the ideas of others, yes! Listen and respect each other, absolutely  Be open to new perspectives, definitely  But does that mean that we as a group need to make each and every one of us smaller as an individual in order to be able to do these really basic things? And if we demand that sort of modesty in order to respect another human being, do we even respect the person to start with?
